Common Name Dunsterville's Scaphyglottis [American Orchid Enthusiast in Venezuela 1900's]

Flower Size .6" [1.5 cm]

Found in the Leeward Islands, the Windward Islands, Surinam, Venezuela and Peru in wet montane forests at elevations around 1325 meters as a medium to large sized, cool growing epiphyte with terete elongate stems basally becoming clavate apically, lightly complanate pseudobulbs carrying 2, apical, opposite, elliptic-lanceolate, acute leaves that blooms in the fall and winter on a terminal, short, single flowered inflorescence.
