Common Name The Twin Scaphyglottis [refers to the 2 simultaneous single flowered inflorescence]

Flower Size .6" [1.5 cm]

Found in Cartago province of Costa Rica in somewhat disturbed forests on trunks and lower branches of trees at elevations around 1000 to 1500 meters as a small sized, erect to pendant, warm growing epiphyte with basally slender, never superposed, ellipsoid pseudobulbs enveloped basally in youth by several, close, distichous sheaths and carrying 2, apical, ovate-lanceolate, basally conduplicate, coriaceous, acute, but minutely emarginate leaves that blooms in the late summer and fall on 1 to 3, to 1.2" [3 cm] long, terminal, short, successively single, few flowered inflorescence densely covered by dry bracts.
