Common Name The Broad Bulbed Scaphyglottis

Found in Costa Rica and Panama at elevations of 1300 to 1400 meters as a medium sized, warm growing epiphyte with stipitate, fusiform pseudobulbs carrying 2 apical, erect-patent to suberect, ligulate, obtuse leaves that blooms in the winter on a subsessile, laxly 2 to 4 flowered, erect inflorescence arising through scarious, elliptic-lanceolate, acute bracts.
Similar to S lindenianae but differs in the shorter, usually thick basally pseudobulb, narrower leaves, and a white lip that is widest below the middle and the base of the lip is shorter than the blade.
