Common Name The Violet Scaphyglottis [refers to the flower Color]

Flower Size .1" [2.5mm]

Found in Fr Guiana, Guyana, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Brazil at elevations up to 51500 meters as an often pendant, cool growing epiphyte with dark green to purple green, swollen stems carrying purple brown above, olove-green beneath leaves that blooms in the spring, summer and fall in clusters at the apex of the stem.

Some references put this species as a synonym of S graminifolia but I have kept them separate for now.
