Found in French Guiana and Para Brazil on mossy tree limbs in seasonally dry forests at elevations around 150 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot, pendent growing epiphyte with narrow, bilaterally compressed pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, narrowly elliptic-lanceolate, acute, coriaceous, red spotted leaf with 4, imbricating, distichous, conduplicate, coriaceous, purple spotted, shorter leaflike sheaths enveloping the pseudobulb that blooms in the summer on an erect, axillary, to 2 to 2.8" [5 to 7 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with 1 to 3 clasping bracts and carrying a campanulate, transluscent yellow flower with red spots.
Juvenile forms of this orchid are equitant and mature forms are pseudobulbous and both forms are capable of producing a lateral inflorescence
