Found in Pastaza Ecuador at elevations 1300 meters as a minature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with conical-ovate pseudobulbs enveloped basally by several well developed distichous, imbricating, uppermost leaf bearing sheaths and carrying a single, apical, coriaceous, elliptic, acute leaf that blooms on an axillary form the upper sheaths, spicate, to 7.2" [18 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence with several acicular bracts.
