Found in Costa Rica at elevations around 1700 to 1800 meters as a small to just medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with a glabrous, erect, rather delicate stem carrying no leaves at blooming which opccurs in the late winter and early spring on an erect, rachis 4 to 4.8" [10 to 12 cm] long, lax at the base, dense towards the apex, to 25 flowered inflorescence carrying diurnally fragrant flowers
