Found in Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica in oak-pine forests in full sun at elevations around 800 meters as a miniature sized, warm growing terrestrial with an erect, glabrous stem carrying basal, not present at blooming leaves that blooms in the winter on an erect, to 6" [15 cm] long, few to several flowered inflorescence enveloped by scarous sheaths and carrying diurnally fragrant flowers
