Common Name The Thin-Leafed Schizochilus
Flower Size .8" [1 cm]
Found in eastern South Africa as a miniature to small sized, cold growing terrestrial species occuring in rocky to marshy grasslands at elevations of 1000 to 3000 meters in areas with higher rainfall with egg-shaped tubers giving rise to two to 10 basal, and about 4 above leaves and blooms in the spring and summer on a 2 to 20" long, erect, terminal, cylindrical-oblong, dense, several flowered inflorescence holding the flowers in a dense ball towards the apex.
