Common Name The Curled Schomburgkia
Flower Size 2 to 2.4" [5 to 6 cm]
Found from Costa Rica, Colombia, Venezuela, Fr Guyana, Guyana, Surinam and northern Brazil at lower elevations as a large sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with clavate-fusiform, compressed, angled and sulcate pseudobulbs enveloped in youth by several membraneous, acute sheaths and carrying 2 apical, rigid, coriaceous, erect-patent, apically recurved, oblong, cuneate and lightly concave below into the base leaves that blooms in the summer on a racemose to sub-umbellate, many flowered, 24 to 44" [60 to 110 cm] long, robust, terete inflorescence.
Similar to Schomburgkia gloriosa in floral bracts and flower segment size but the sepals of S crispa are obtuse vs acute in S gloriosa
