Common Name The White Flowered Sertifera

Flower Size

Found in Putumayo department of Colombia among shrubs in humid areas at elevations of 1600 to 1700 meters as a medium sized, cool growing terrestrial with fleshy, flexuous, pubescent roots giving rise to an erect, rigid, unbranched, leafy above stems carrying plicate, elliptic-lanceolate, acute, sessile below leaves on densely reddish glandular sheaths that blooms in the late winter and early spring on a lateral, 1.6" [4 cm] long, subcapitate, densely successively few, 8 to 10 flowered inflorescence with subulate-lanceolate, acute, green, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying globose , pure white flowers or with the sepals white-greenish.

Distinguished by being the only species in the genus with white flowers.
