Common Name Butcher's Sievekingia [American Orchid Enthusiast in Panama]

Flower Size 2" [5 cm]

Found in Chocle province of Panama at lower elevations as a small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with clustered, broadly ovoid, somewhat ribbed pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, plicate, elliptic, coriaceous, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall and spring on a pendant, basal, 1 to 3" [2.5 to 7.5 cm] long, few flowered inflorescence with ovate, papery bracts and acute, short dark haired, papery floral bracts.
