Found in Ecuador in very wet forests at elevations around 300 to 600 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with ovoid-conical, ribbed pseudobulbs enveloped basally by dry, brown, scarious sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, plicate, elliptic to lanceolate, acute, gradually narrowing below into the short, channeled, petiolate base leaf that is densely pilose on the underside and blooms in the fall on a lateral, pendant, 1.6" [to 4 cm] long, 3 to 8 flowered, racemose, densely brown pubescent inflorescence carrying sweetly scented flowers held in an umbel
