Common Name The Aborted Sigmatostalix

Occurs in the province of Colon and the Canal Zone of Panama at elevations of 30 to 330 meters as a miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with oblong elliptic, compressed pseudobulbs enveloped basally by a pair of distichous, overlapping, longitudinally folded bracts holding leaflike blades and carrying apically, a single, linear-lanceolate to strap shaped, apically pointed leaf that blooms in the late winter and early spring on a slender, basal, few flowered, 4" [10 cm] long, shortly paniculate inflorescence arising from with in the leaf axil of a newly matured pseduobulb.
