Found in Guerrero state of Mexico in oak-pine forests at elevations around 1000 meters as a small sized, warm growing epiphyte with close set, ovate to narrowly ovate, laterally flattened, ancipitous pseudobulbs enveloped basally by several distichous, imbricating, conduplicate, uppermost leaf bearing sheaths and carrying a single, linear to linear-elliptic, acute, narrowing below into the fairly long, narrow conduplicate base leaf that blooms in the fall and winter on an arching, basal, along the axil of an upper sheath, to 6" [to 15 cm] long, laxly several flowered inflorescence .
