Found in southern Brazil and Uruguay as a medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with an erect stem carrying oblong to oblong-lanceolate, acute, glabrous, that blooms in the late spring and early summer on a terminal, erect, rachis 4" [10 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence
