Common Name The Callous Sobralia

Found in Panama and Colombia in lower montane cloud forests at elevations around 650 to 800 meters as a small sized, warmgrowing terrestrial with terete woody stems carrying, linear-lanceolate, plicate, dark green leaves and blooms from the axis of the uppermost leaf with a generally, single flowered inflorescence with short-lived, successive, slightly fragrant, pink flowers.
This plant has a very bamboo-like appearance and when in bloom often has an inflorescence on each stem giving quite a display.
