Found in Costa Rica and Panama at elevations of 20 to 1050 meters as a small to large sized, hot growing epiphyte or terrestrial with erect 12 to 59" [30 to 150 cm] long stems carrying ovate-lancoelate, acuminate leaves with usually minutely verrucose sheaths that blooms in the late winter till early summer on a terminal, short, successively single flowered inflorescence
