Common Name The Fine Haired Sobralia
Flower Size 1 3/4" [4.5 cm]
Found in Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia in wet montane forests at elevations of 1200 to 3200 meters as a medium to large sized, terrestrial with an erect, terete, leafless below, leaf bearing above stem carrying many, coriaceous, plicate, suberect to spreading, lanceolate, long-acuminate leaves that blooms in the late spring and early summer on a lateral from the axils of the upper leaves, shorter than the terminal leaf, compressed, subterete, racemose, loosely, successivly few flowered inflorescence with ovate-triangular, concave, acute to subacuminate floral bracts with 1 to 3 flowers open at any one time.
