Flower Size 2" [5 cm]

Found in Costa Rica and Boca del Toro province of Panama in cloud forests at elevations around 1750 to 2000 meters as a medium to large sized, cool growing terrestrial with thick erect stems enveloped by verruculous, glabrous sheaths and carrying various, elliptic, acuminate, thin, somewhat plicate leaves that blooms in the late spring on a terminal, 2 to 2.4" [5 to 6 cm] long, 2 flowered inflorescence carrying large showy yellow flowers with a purplish lip.

This species has been sold commercially as Sobralia bella and Sobralia undatocarinata aurea
