Found from Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Surianm, Guyana, Fr Guiana, Northern Brazil and Ecuador in tropical moist forests at elevations of sealevel to 1500 meters as a medium sized, cool to warm growing epiphyte with erect or ascending stems carrying lanceolate to oblong-lanceolate, plicate, acuminate to acute, fleshy, basally clasping leaves all held sparsely towards the apex and blooms in the spring and summer on a terminal, long, single flowered inflorescence arising on a mature stem and longer than the leaves and has fragrant, short-lived flowers.
