Found in Cocle province of Panama at elevations of 800 to 1000 meters as a large to giant sized, warm growing terrestrial with an erect stem carrying relatively narrow, elliptic, long-acuminate subpetiolate base leaves with slightly striate, scurfy punctate sheaths that blooms in the summer on a terminal, bract cluster, striate, scurfy-punctate, outer bracts long acuminate, successively single, few inflorescence.
