Found in Colombia without collection data [1000 to 1800? meters] as a medium sized, cool growing terrestrial with clustereed, erect, purple spotted stems carrying in the upper half, elliptic-lanceolate, somewhat acuminate, plicate leaves that blooms in the summer on an ellipsoid, generally with a foliaceous bract, 1 to 1.2" [2.5 to 3 cm] long, successively 1 to 2 flowered inflorescence.
