Found in Panama in cloud forests at elevations of 700 to 1000 meters as a small to large sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte or terrestrial with erect stems carrying several, ellioptic-ovate, acuminate, plcate leaves that are closely spaced at mid stem and widely spaced above, that blooms in the spring on a terminal, single flowered inflorescence arising from a reduced foliar bract and carrying fragrant flowers
