Common Name Mutis' Sobralia [Spanish Collector in Colombia later 1700's]

Flower Size 3.2" [8 cm]

Found in Cundinamarca department of Colombia at eleavtions of 1550 to 2100 meters as a giant sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with erect, firm stems carrying in the upper part of the stem, distichous, lanceolate-acuminate, strongly plicate leaves that blooms in the later fall on axillary, from the upper leaves, racemose, fractiflex, successively single, several flowered inflorescence carrying large, fleshy, not particularily fragrant flowers.
