Found in Costa Rica in humid forests at elevations of 700 to 800 meters as a miniature to small sized, warm growing terrestrial with erect stems enveloped by glabrous sheaths and carrying various, distichous, ligulate, obtuse to obliquely bi or tridentate apically leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on a terminal, 2.2 to 2.4" [5.5 to 6 cm] long, successively single, few flowered inflorescence arising through conduplicate, elliptic bracts carrying yellow flowers.
