Common Name or Meaning The Rock-Loving Sobralia

Found in Bolivia in tropical wet forests at elevations of 900 to 1900 meters as a medium sized, warm to cool growing rupiculous orchid with a short rhizome giving rise to a cane-like stem enveloped by leafless below and leaf bearing sheaths above and carrying distichous, coriaceous, plicate, vein beneath obvious, lanceolate, acute leaves that blooms in the spring on a lateral, near the apex, 2 to 3" [5 to 7.5 cm] long, successively single, few [4 to 5] flowered inflorescence
