Found in Somalia, Kenya and Tanzania in coastal and lowland bush at elevations up to 300 meters as a large sized, hot growing scandent epiphyte with a shiney brown, elongate stem carrying many, lanceolate, unequally and acutely bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the spring on 1 to several, a along the stem, 1.6 to 2.4 [4 to 6 cm] long, laxly 4 to 6 flowered inflorescence carrying fragrant flowers
