Common Name The Concepcion Laelia [Conceicao de Mato Dentro, a town in Minas Gerais]

Flower Size 2.4" [6 cm]

Found in Minas Gerais state of Brazil at elevations of 800 to 1200 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing lithophyte with obclaviform, reddish pseudobulbs carrying 1 to rarely 2, apical, coriaceous, recurved, elliptic-elongate, dark purple below, acute, gradually narrowing below into the clasping base leaves that blooms in the fall on a terminal, erect, arising through a spathe, 16" [40 cm] long, few flowered inflorescence .
