Found in Minas Gerais state of Brazil near Presidente Kubitschek at elevations of 1000 to 1300 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing, caespitose, rupicolous lithophyte with obclavate pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, elliptical-lanceolate, recurved, conduplicate, dorsally acute, rigid, fleshy leaf that blooms in the spring in Brazil on a terminal, erect, arising through a linear-truncated, oblique spathe, 4 to 5.2" [10 to 13 cm] long, few flowered inflorescence carrying resupinate flowers without a fragrance.
