Found in penninsular Malaysia and Borneo in hill and lower montane forests among rocks and under bamboo at elevations of 800 to 2000 meters as a small to medium sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with ovoid pseudobulbs enveloped basally by a sheath and carrying plicate, linear-lanceolate, acuminate, long-petiolate leaf that blooms in the spring summer and fall on a basal, 12 to 22" [30 to 55 cm] long, successively several flowered inflorescence
