Common Name The Hong Kong Spiranthes - In China Xiang Gang Shou Cao

Flower Size .32" [8 mm]

Found in Hong Kong, Nansei-shoto (Ishigaki Island), Taiwan and N. Borneo on open moist to dry hillsides, grasslands and meadows at elevations of 800 to 900 meters as a miniature sized, warm growing epiphtye with 2 to 6, erect, spreading, linear to oblanceolate, acute leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, 4 to 18" [10 to 45 cm] long, rachis 1.4 to 5.2" [3.5 to 13 cm] long, becoming densely gladular pubescent distally, spirally arranged, many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, sparsely glandular pubescent, acuminate, longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying creamy white flowers with a green, glandular-pubescent ovary.

This hybrid is a combination of Spiranthes flexuosa and Spiranthes sinensis
