LATER
Common Name The White Spiranthes
Flower Size .08" [2 mm]
Found in Taiwan in grasses on roadside slopes that receive sufficient sunshine at an elevation around 1,500 meters as a miniature sized, cool growing terrestrial with thick, tuberous roots giving rise to 6 linear, basal, acute, fasciculate, fleshy leaves that blooms in the later spring on an erect, terminal, pedunlce 4.5" [10.5 cm] long, rachis 3.2" [8 cm] long, spirally arranged, to 10 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying sub-open, white flowers.
"This species is close to Spiranthes sinensis but differs from it by the floral bract exceeding the length of white flower with a glabrous lip-disc, and lanceolate sepals. In addition, the smaller stigma on the ventral side of the column creates a different side profile of the column from that of S. sinensis." T.P.Lin & W.M.Lin 2011
