Common Name The Nodding Stenorrhynchos

Found in Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela and Peru as a cool to cold growing terrestrial with a rosette of basal, medium to dark green, oblong-elliptic, obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms on an erect, terminal, sometimes nodding, peduncle to 20" [50 cm] long, bright red, smooth, provided with many, covering almost all, thin, tubular, glabrous, dilated apices, lower ones green tinged with pink, grading to pinky red above sheathing bracts, rachis to 3" [7.5 cm], many flowered inflorescence with bright red, longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying flowers with bright red sepals, pale pink petals and a white lip.

Here again I feel this species would be best served as a variety of !Stenorrhynchos speciosum , the only major difference being that the rachis nods towards the apex.
