Common Name Lohok's Spongiola [Bornean Collector of type]
Flower Size .6" [1.5 cm]
Found in northern Borneo in riverine forests on branches of small trees on limestone and sandstone ridges at elevations around 300 to 500 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with a descending stem carrying 3 to 6, coriaceous, spreading, oblong to oblong-elliptic, obtuse and asymetrical apically leaves that blooms in the fall and winter on a lateral, pendent, racemose, occasionally branched, narrow, wiry, pale green, 12 to 18" [30 to 45 cm] long, successively to 25 flowered inflorescence with 3 to 4 remote, adpressed, ovate, sterile bracts and ovate floral bracts and carrying 5 to 6, ephemeral flowers open at any one time.
