Found in Bahia state of Brazil in the Atlantic rainforest at elevations around 750 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with green, clustered, oval, elongating towards the apex, sulcate pseudobulbs enveloped by acute, paleaceous sheaths and carrying subcoriaceous, plicate, elliptic-lanceolate, attenuate below into the canaliculate, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the summer on a pendent, basal, short, lax, 2 to more flowered inflorescence envloped by large, pocket-like sheaths, large, lanceolate, lax, paleaceous floral bracts and carrying very fragrant flowers
