Common Name Greer's Stanhopea [Australian Orchid Enthusiast current]

Flower Size 2.4 to 2.8" [6 to 7 cm]

A newly named species from Moyombamba in the San Marcos region of Peru at elevations around 1100 meters as a medium sized, warm growing epiphyte with clustered, oval, strongly ribbed and furrowed with age pseudobulbs carrying a single apical, erect, plicate, coarse and leathery, lanceolate, acute, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on a basal, pendant, 6" [15 cm] long, 2 to 5 [7 ]flowered inflorescence envelop[ed completely by large, broadly triangular, acute bracts .
