Common Name Posada's Stanhopea [Colombian Orchid Grower now]

Flower Size 4" to 5 1/2" [10 to 14 cm]

Found in Colombia as a medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with ovate, longitudinally grooved with age pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, plicate, lanceolate, acuminate, gradually narrowing below into the terete, channeled, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on a basal, pendant, to 12" [to 30 cm] long, 4 to 12 flowered inflorescence with large, spread, broadly triangular, acute floral bracts and carrying up to 12, fragrant flowers.
