Common Name Stevenson's Stanhopea

Flower Size 4.8 to 5.6" [12 to 14 cm]

Found in Meta Colombia as a small to medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with ribbed and furrowed with age pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, coarse, leathery, plicate, lanceolate, acute, gradually narrowing below into the channelled petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on a basal, pendant, to 8" [to 20 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence with large, spread, broadly triangualr, acute floral bracts and carrying up to 15 fragrant [mothballs] flowers.
