Common Name The Four Horned Stanhopea

Found in Colombia and Venezuela as a natural hybrid between S wardii and S. grandiflora with strongly ribbed and furrowed with age pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, plicate, lanceolate, acute gradually narrowing below into the channeled, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on a basal, pendent, 6 to 8" [15 to 20 cm] long, 2 to 3 flowered inflorescence with large, spreading, triangular, acute floral bracts and carrying fragrant flowers.
