Common Name The Deep Red Stelis

Found in Cocle province of Panama at elevations of 600 to 1000 meters as a small sized, warm growing epiphyte with erect, slender stems enveloped by sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, fleshy, elliptic to elliptic-oblanceolate, obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the elongate, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter on an erect, 6" [15 cm] long, distichous, many flowered inflorescence with infundibuliform, acute, scarious floral bracts.
