Common Name The Bota Cauca Pleurothallis [refers to the location at the headwaters of the Caqueta river]

Found in Cauca department of Colombia at elevations around 1700 meters as a miniature to just small sized, caespitose epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped to the abcision layer by a tubular sheath with several sheaths below and carrying an erect, coriaceous, elliptical, subacute to acute, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms on an erect, arising through a spathe, peduncle to 3.2" [8 cm] long, rachis to 4" [10 cm] long, loosely, simultaneously many flowered inflorescence with oblique, tubular, half as long as the pedicel floral bract.

" Similar to is Stelis braccata differing in the color of the petals which are yellow in S. braccata but are yellow with a reddish-brown margin in P. bota-caucensis. Also the apexes of the lateral appendages of the column in S. braccata are obtuse where in P bota-caucensis the apex of the lateral appendages are trunctate. In addition, S. braccata has equal segments where P. bota-caucensis has a dorsal sepal longer than the lateral sepals and different in shape to the lateral sepals. In P. bota-caucanensis the dorsal sepal is narrowly ovate where in S. braccata the dorsal sepal is broadly ovate and equal to the lateral sepals." Uribe-Velez & Salueda 2021
