Common Name The Bracted Stelis

Found in Antioquia department of Colombia in montane forests at elevations of 1800 to 3000 meters as a medium sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with erect, stout ramicauls enveloped by 3 short, basal sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, broadly elliptic-oblong, striated, obtuse, tridenticulate, narrowing below into the canaliculate petiolate base leaf that blooms on 1 to 3, distichous, to 12" [30 cm] long, including the 2 to 2.8" [5 to 7 cm] long peduncle, mostly simultaneously many flowered inflorescence arising through a speathe and has large, navicular, acute floral bracts.
