Common Name The Beautifully Haired Stelis [refers to the sepals]

Flower Size .12” [3 mm]

Found in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Brazil at low elevations as a mini-miniiature sized, hot to warm growing, caespitose epiphyte with erect ramoicausl carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, oblong-lanceolate leaf that blooms on an erect, 3" [7.5 cm] long, successively 1 to 3, several flowered inflorecsence.

CAUTION Romero 2000 cites the Dunsterville drawing 1966/1979 as S schmidtchenii instead of S calotricha. I belive that Dunsterville is correct but if not both the photo and the drawing are Stelis schmidtchenii
