Common Name The Thick, Fleshy Flowered Stelis

Found in Cartago province of Costa Rica at elevations of 1500 meters as a medium sized, cool growing, caespitose epiphyte with erect, stout ramicauls enveloped by a tubular sheath in the middle and 2 or so sheaths below and carrying a single, apical, coriaceous, erect, elliptic-oblong, obtuse, tridenticulate, narrowing abruptly below into the channeled, petiolate base leaf that blooms on an erect, arising through a spathe, much longer than the leaf, slender, peduncle .8 to 1.2" [2 to 3 cm] long, rachis 8.4" [21 cm] long, distichous, lax below, densely flowered above, mostly simultaneously many inflorescence with large, cucullate, apiculate, longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying fleshy, greenish, glabrous, flowers.
Recognized by its origin, its large size, large floral bracts and a long, densely mostly simultaenosusly many flowered inflorescence.
