Stelis connata C. Presl 1858 SUBGENUS Stelis Duque 2008 Photo courtesy of © Lourens Grobler
Common Name The Grown Together Stelis?
Flower Size .2" [2 mm]
Found in Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia in wet montane cloud forests at elevations around 1350 to 2300 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with erect stems enveloped by 3 tubular leafless sheaths and carrying a single apical, erect, coriaceous, oblong, obtuse, narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, to 8" [20 cm] long, racemose, many flowered inflorescence with short, infundibular bracts.
I am fairly sure that this determination is incorrect as the sepals are not connate so I await further references.
