Found in Oriente province of Cuba in montane forests at elevations of 800 to 1325 meters as a mini-miniature to miniature sized, warm to cool growing, caespitose epiphyte with erect, shorter than the leaf ramicausl enveloped by 2 to 3, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, coriaceous, oblanceoalte, obtuse, narrowing below into the short, petiolate base leaf that blooms on an erect, to 3.2" [8 cm] long, peduncle about the length of the leaf, rachis secund, mostly simultaneousl many flowered inflorescence with broadly ovate, apiculate, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying drak brown-purple flowers.
