Common Name The Large Flowered Stelis

Flower Size .6" [1.5 cm]

Found in Junin department of Peru at elevations around 2500 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing, caespitose epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped by 3 sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, oblong-ligulate, obtuse, cuneate below into the narrowly petiolate base leaf that blooms on an erect, distichous, subdense, 7.2" [18 cm] long including the short peduncle, simultaneously many flowered inflorescence arising through a compressed spathe below the apex of the ramicaul with cucullate, truncate, half as long as the ovary floral bracts and carrying yellow, glabrous flowers.
