Found in Caldas department of Colombia at elevations around 2800 meters as a miniature to small sized, cold growing, caespitose epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3 tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptic-oblong, subacute to obtuse, tridenticulate, narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms on 1 to 4, erect, distichous, dakr purple, 3.2 to 6" [8 to 15 cm] long including the very short peduncle, simultaneously many flowered inflorescence arising through a spathe with large, navicular, as long as the ovary floral bracts.
