Found in Costa Rica as a miniature sized, densely caespitose epiphyte with erect to ascending ramicauls carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, oblong, acute, unequally tridentate apically gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, densely secund, longer than the leaf, successively few, several flowered inflorescence arising through a spathe with cup-like, acute, inflated, recurved margin floral bracts.
